E-Store Upgrade This is just a small update to make your CGA E-Store browsing experience a little simpler. After our global E-Store re-vamp some time back, it became evident that the basic design was not a perfect fit for our product. In short, you had to burrow down for each topic, to actually get to the details of or indeed to purchase a title... Not ideal..... So, we have now removed one layer of clicks, and basically made the heirachy flatter. Sounds complicated... well, just click on the link and you'll see what we mean. But basically, now when you click on a topic, say Modelling, you are given a quick explanation of what is involved, and then a complete list of all titles for that topic is shown. All nicely colour coded, and in order of diffuculty. Oh, and now you can easily see, right there, if a title is in stock, and available for delivery on DVD, Download, both, or neither. And as ever, if you want a full breakdown and examples, just click on the titles cover art.... We hope you like the tweak......
Merry Christmas 2009 Well, another year has passed us by, I hope it has been as good as possible for you and your loved ones. We won't go into to much detail here on the details of the year itself, we'll hold that back for a few days. After all the New Year approaches. All we'll say is, take some time to enjoy the holidays (if you observe them) and to refill those batteries for another year ahead. Christmas is a time for meeting up with family and friends, and being thankful for all that we have. Please pull a cracker for us, sip a drink, nibble a mince pie, and above all, relax and enjoy yourselves. We'll see you again in a few days after some R&R at CGA central. Over and out for now....
Intermediate Animation 1: Floppy's Surprise Now for some news of our own... Those of you who have been following our Animation series will be glad to know that the third title in that series, Intermediate Animation 1: Floppy's Surprise is being released today. By now the series will have grounded in you in the fundamentals of pure animation (simply making things move realistically) and also on how to bring to life characters in your own storylines. In this third title, Simon Thistlethwaite will take you through an extensiv.....

Animation Fundamentals 2: Adding Character Has Been Released! Simon Thistletwaite's Core Principles introduced many budding 3dsmax animators to the exciting world of CG animation. So many of CG Academy's customers need to take their models and bring them to life, or at the very least make them move in a realistic manner. Simon's first tutorial armed you with just those skills. In this new release, Adding Character, Simon pushes on to teach you about Character Animation, which is something he does on a day to day basis in holywood blockbusters .....
